Skill Needs Analysis

Whether working in environments characterised by growth and change, or organisations with more established and well defined work forces and practices, we are experienced in undertaking skills analysis that can be used to produce workforce competency profiles, and report on the training needs of your workforce.

Each of our consultants is experienced working in a variety of organisational settings to analyse the range of skills and knowledge used by the organisation. This can be achieved using existing skills frameworks or may support the development or implementation of customised frameworks. The methods we use to perform the analysis may include:

  • Review of existing documentation such as position descriptions or work plans

  • Interviews with individuals to discuss the tasks, skills and knowledge utilised in their role and to identify any new and emerging issues facing their work.

  • Focus groups to bring together individuals with shared/similar responsibilities or who represent different relationships across an organisation or work function.

  • For larger organisations and projects, development of survey instruments which are made available online to provide opportunity for increased participation.
