Description

Review of the BSB01 development of BSB07 Business Services Training Package. This Training Package brings together 64 national qualifications covering areas such as frontline management, administration, marketing, human resources etc.

Methodology

This national project involved wide community consultation and analysis and included:

  • Research and analysis of changes in the business landscape, competitive pressures brought on by globalisation, and general workforce, occupational and demographic trends which impact on the skills required for people working within business services.
  • An analysis of the uptake and usage of BSB01 units of competency and qualifications, of feedback received through IBSA's Review and Feedback Register, and of comments received via an online survey collecting information on Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) experience in delivering BSB01.
  • Extensive national consultation. A Discussion Paper which presented an analysis of key research and posed questions important to the review of the Training Package was made available online and sent directly to key stakeholders via email. Consultation also including online forums and face to face meetings with key stakeholder groups across Australia.
  • Analysis of the outcomes of the consultation, and development or redevelopment of units, skill sets and qualifications identified in research.
  • Validation of the development work, conducted using the same processes as in the consultation stage.
