ACSF model assessment tool bank

Client

Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR)

Description

Funded through the 2009/10 Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) program, this project is to develop a bank of assessment tools for the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).

The ACSF is a nationally endorsed framework that provides:

  • a consistent national approach to the identification of core language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skill requirements in diverse work, training, personal and community contexts
  • a common reference point for describing and discussing performance in the five core LLN skill areas.

The bank of assessment tools will cover levels 1-3 of the ACSF, and be freely available online at this website. The tools cover a range of industries.

The project includes the development of a user guide, which will include information about how to conduct an assessment against the ACSF, information about how to contextualise the tools, and case studies to explain the different situations in which the tools could be used.
