Client

SkillsDMC Industry Skills Council

Description

The new RII09 Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package was endorsed in July 2009, and Precision Consultancy have been contracted to develop assessment tools for 188 of the new units of competency. The tools for each unit include:

  • an Assessment plan, which includes details to help prepare for assessment
  • a Practical assessment, to be used to observe a candidate's skill level
  • a Supporting evidence assessment, which is particularly useful for RPL, but can also be used to provide evidence of on the job training
  • a Theory assessment (with answers and without), to assess knowledge
  • an Assessment summary which maps the assessment questions to the unit of competency.

Precision have coordinated a large team of external technical writers and subject matter experts from the five industry sectors (Civil Construction, Coal Mining, Metalliferous Mining, Quarrying and Drilling) to complete the work in a short timeframe.
