‘Closing the Loop’ training

Description

Disability services in Victoria will soon be required to undergo independent monitoring to confirm the quality of disability service provision.

Precision Consultancy has been contracted by the Department of Human Services to provide 'Closing the Loop' training, which will give registered disability service providers a better understanding of the processes that will occur as part of this independent monitoring. This training will assist organisations comply with the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria.

Who should attend the training?
This free training program is targeted at CEOs, senior managers and quality leaders who will be leading the audit process in their organisation. People attending the training should already have attended the DHS training 'Understanding the Quality Framework' or have equivalent knowledge.

The program will be run over 1.5 days but in recognition of the different levels of experience with audit processes, the training will be offered in two separate components:

  • If you have previously supported your organisation through an audit you should attend only the full day 'Assessing Evidence Against the Standards' session.
  • If this is your first experience of auditing, you will benefit from attending both the 'Audit Basics' and 'Assessing Evidence Against the Standards' sessions.

Audit basics
This half day session will focus on the mechanics of hosting an audit and is targeted specifically at disability service providers who have never facilitated an independent audit in their workplace. This training will cover:

  • what happens in the audit process
  •  how auditors work
  • the rights and responsibilities of each party in the audit process
  • engaging key stakeholders in independent monitoring
  • obtaining support for quality systems and auditing in the organisation

Assessing evidence against the standards
This full day session will provide information specific to auditing against the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria. It is targeted at all registered disability service providers. This training will cover:

  • what is required to obtain certification and what will happen with audit outcomes
  • types of evidence for Industry and Outcomes Standards
  • conformance, non-conformance and preventative and corrective actions
  • leadership and stakeholder relations in the audit process

Times

Audit Basics sessions will run from 1 pm - 4 pm. Afternoon tea will be provided.

Assessing Evidence Against the Standards sessions will run from 9.30 am - 4 pm. Morning and afternoon tea, and a light lunch will be provided.
