Description
An investigation into industry expectations of Vocational Education and Training (VET) assessment, in order to establish a strong evidence base for future National Quality Council (NQC) work to build industry confidence in the outcomes of VET assessment.
Methodology
- Literature review, to inform the development of script for interviews and draft questions fora national survey in addition to the analysis of existing research.
- Call for submissions from peak industry organisations.
- One to one telephone interviews, including small, medium and large enterprises, RTOs, State Training Authorities and Industry Skills Councils to probe issues and identify best practice in terms of industry engagement in VET assessment.
- National cross-industry, online survey of employers and employees.
- Analysis and reporting.
Deliverables
Final report, incorporating:
- findings from literature review
- analysis of the expectations of VET assessment by industry/enterprise
- evidence based recommendations for future NQC work to build industry confidence in the quality of VET assessment practices
- industry supported strategies to build industry confidence in VET assessment outcomes
